Here are all the details on the new set, including how many pieces it’ll be, its price and more
Nintendo and LEGO are officially teaming up for another LEGO set and this time it’ll come in the form of an NES system complete with a TV and game cartridge.
“Today’s announcement will let adult fans take a trip down memory-lane by building a mechanically functional version of an all-time [favorite] console with LEGO bricks,” according to a press release.
Nintendo and LEGO previously announced a set of Super Mario LEGO toys, which hit store shelves next month, including at LEGO and other retailers.
In addition to the console, cartridge and TV, the ridiculously well-detailed set includes a controller and it even has Super Mario Bros. gameplay on the screen of the 80s-style television set.
The video below also reveals that you can put the cartridge in the system (but not before blowing on it to make it work) and there’s even a nob on the side of the TV that allows you to move Mario along the classic side-scrolling level.
The 2,646 piece $229 set will be available Aug. 1, 2020 exclusively through LEGO’s online and retail stores. It is slated to become available at more retailers next year, Nintendo said.
